Charters Towers Columba HUB is a kindergarten facility located 134 kilometres from the city of Townsville. Surrounded by red dirt, blue skies, kangaroo and cattle, we are a small Kindy and care centre with a wealth of passion for early education.

At Columba Kindergarten and Care, we provide long day-care for children aged 3-5 through a Queensland Government approved Kindergarten program. We offer before, after school care and vacation care for not only children that attend the school but also the greater community. Our service is proud to visit and be associated with Saint Columba's Parish, founded in 1872. The Parish is conveniently located within walking distance from Columba Kindergarten and Care.

Columba Kindergarten and Care provide nutritious, age-specific meals for breakfast and afternoon tea for all care sessions. We fill our program with fun-filled activities during vacation care, such as craft, cooking, construction competitions, annual field days, sport, incursions from local businesses, and excursions around our beautiful town.

Supported by The Wonderful Saint Columba's Parish

Our Kindergarten program and OSHC sessions are based on extending your child's learning journey through a holistic approach. We provide a balanced, intentional teaching and play-based learning experience for children to self-extend on their own interests and abilities.

We strive to promote a mutually beneficial partnership with all families and the wider community, integrating culturally diverse backgrounds, beliefs and attitudes. Our educators believe in child-initiated experiences and are passionate about supporting the community. We understand that parents are the primary educators of children; we simply endeavour to enrich their first schooling experiences.
