St Catherine's Kindergarten is a care facility servicing the wider Whitsunday region. Situated in one of the most beautiful enclaves in Australia, we deliver care for the community's youngest members.

St Catherine's Kindy operates an approved Kindergarten program for 3–5-year-old children while offering before and after Kindy care to cater to working parents (7.00 am - 6.00 pm).

Operating a Queensland Government approved Kindergarten program, our centre thrives in the community with a strong connection to the local church and school. We regularly participate in local activities, including under 8's day, school library excursions, classroom visits, assemblies, liturgies and masses.

Flexible Kindy in Proserpine

The staff at St Catherine's Kindergarten are passionate about providing a secure, positive and welcoming environment, understanding that children need this security to grow and develop. Independence, problem-solving, grace and courtesy are encouraged to ensure each child's natural individuality is a priority.

We operate smaller sized classes, creating a space for each child to develop and grow in a nurturing environment. Our educators promote a mutually beneficial partnership with all families and the wider community, integrating culturally diverse backgrounds, beliefs and attitudes. Effective communication between the Proserpine Kindy team, parents and child is paramount and essential to a successful partnership between families and the Kindergarten. Between the great relationships with our school and the broader community, positive learning environment and seamless transition period into Prep, we're confident that your children will thrive under the passionate care of St Catherine's Kindergarten.

How long have you worked in early childhood and/or education and care?

I have been working in the early childhood education industry for 15 years.

Why were you drawn to become an educator in early childhood/OSHC?

I became an educator because I am passionate about the early years and enjoy the role as facilitator in a child’s learning journey. I love that each day with the children is different and full of wonder and investigation.

What is your favourite thing about being a service leader/teacher (Director/Coordinator)?

I am new to the role as service leader/director and I am looking forward to working with a strong team to provide a Kindy that is warm and welcoming. I endeavour to continue providing a place that children can explore and investigate through their play.

What is the best thing about your centre/kindergarten/OSHC

The best thing about our centre is the staff and team. We believe that we are amazing at creating a secure and safe environment for children to feel comfortable, welcomed and ready to learn each day.

What is one thing that you tell all families?

One thing that we always discuss with the children’s parents is our strong connection to the St Catherine's Catholic College. We provide fantastic transitions, special occasion experiences and excursions.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family in the outdoors, fishing and boating.
