Mount Isa Kindy is a care centre located on the St. Joseph's Primary School site in Happy Valley. Comprising a team of passionate, professional and caring early educators, our centre offers before school care, kindergarten, after school care and vacation care.
At Mount Isa Kindy, we understand the importance of this growth period – we focus on creating a supportive, compassionate and engaging environment for your child's most formative years.
With a maximum of 22 children during each school term, we facilitate a small, tight-knit education environment that supports the entire family. Our educators' band together to provide an excellent kindergarten and transition to prep program for the children. Our kindergarten also regularly participates in many of the Primary School and Parish special events such as sports carnivals, masses and special events and visitations. These interactions provide the children with a strong sense of belonging within our lovely community.

Our kindergarten program is based on each individual child's unique needs, interests and family inclusions. The continuity of staff at Mount Isa Kindy means that we have created and nurtured strong connections and relationships with the new families, existing and families that have been a part of our care facility in the past.
Family, school locale and the wider community are always invited to be involved at Mount Isa Kindy – we operate with an open-door policy. With a fantastic Queensland Kindergarten learning guideline, transition to prep and child-led learning programs, our kindergarten is committed to providing each child and family with a sense of belonging, security, value and support.
